Abstract:

This double session (two continuous one-hour sessions) will feature a short presentation on what is happening with international archival outreach and the ICA's Archival Solidarity Project. An interactive discussion will follow on

  1. funding sources for international outreach,
  2. how to develop and present a project, and
  3. how to establish and nurture long-term international outreach partnerships
Target audience:
All archivists interested in international outreach and development
Overall purpose and significance of session:
This session will provide a forum for communication and development of infrastructure to foster and support international outreach in archives.
Content description:
This session will include a short presentation on the kinds of archival outreach activities taking place around the globe. Attendees will then be invited to share their international experiences, both positive and negative, and to propose the kinds of services and tools that Archival Solidarity can develop to facilitate and foster international outreach activities.
