Abstract:
Dr. Yoneo Ishii, Director-General of Japan Center for Asian Historical Records and well-known scholar in Southeast Asian Studies will deliver the keynote speech, followed by the reports by the delegates of local public archives, diplomatic records office, and academic society. These reports will provide up-to-date information regarding Japanese archives today.

Anyone who has interests in the session theme will be welcome.

It has been said that Japanese archives still remain underdeveloped. However, recently archives have received a lot of attention in Japan. This session will report the present status of archival community in Japan.
