Abstract:
Digital records are at risk due to obsolescence of technology. Records stored in certain popular file formats today may be unreadable in the near future because of constant changes in hardware, software and media technology. This paper examines the various approaches and problems of preserving digital records forever in spite of the short lifespan of technology.

Archivists involved in the preservation of digital records.
