Content description:
The world of information management has undergone numerous and profound changes over the years. Technology, new trends in organizing work, the manner in which decisions are taken in organizations, and a citizen-focused approach, are only some of the factors that have drastically changed the evolution of the professions linked to this domain. Influenced at the same time by organizations themselves, by unions, by professional associations, and training institutions, the evolution of these professions raises crucial questions. Sylvain Bélanger, Corporate Secretary for Library and Archives Canada will address some of these questions and will present the issues that these questions will raise in the future. Increased specialization? A break-down or regrouping of fields of practice? A calling into question of professional identities? A reorganization of the professions?
